Notable Projects

Products I have built in collaboration with various business groups, UX
designers, content creators, and data analysts.

Citizen Dashboard (2015 – 2017)

  • See demos
  • As part of the Citizen Dashboard team, I played a pivotal role in shaping our corporate design system,
by developing and refining data-driven reusable components such as cards, buttons, and visualizations.
This work included transitioning from print-based to web-based color schemes.
  • I introduced the use of Sass, a scripting language for CSS, which I have been working with since
2012. Additionally, I was an early adopter of JavaScript ES6 in 2015,
inspired by presentations by Eric Kryski and David Luecke from Feathers.js. (Thanks guys!)

Solar Calculator (2022)

Inspired by Google’s Project Sunroof, the Solar Calculator uses advanced LiDAR data to provide citizens with detailed estimates of the cost-effectiveness of installing solar panels on their properties over time.

Key features include:

  • Cost Breakdown: A comprehensive breakdown of installation costs, potential savings, and payback periods.
  • Interactive Map: People can enter their address  or click on an interactive map to view a detailed analysis specific to their property.

By utilizing precise aerial LiDAR mapping, the tool offers a comprehensive analysis which takes into account factors such as roof orientation, panel placement, shading from trees or other structures, and local solar conditions. This allows users to make well-informed decisions about the potential return on investment for solar energy installations, ensuring they maximize their savings and renewable energy benefits.
